Paulo Carrasco
I was born in Gronau, Germany, in 1973 and moved to Portugal (my parent's home country) at age of 6. My work is a reflection of the way I see the world and all the sensations that I receive from it. I started photographing almost 4 years ago, but my fascination for the little moments captured in a frame goes way back in time. I always admired still and motion pictures not only for their message but also for the color and form. At some point in time, during my recent photographic past, I felt the necessity to divide my work into two different areas: one more conceptual where I can manipulate the reality in an active way, and another more passive where I only capture a moment as a simple observer. I love trying to experiment different techniques and styles only to see the image grow from a simple idea into a full composition. This gallery shows these two ways of seeing what surrounds me.
