I was born in 1963 and brought up in East Berlin. Moving to London in the early 90’s and while studying at University of Westminster my work changed replacing the hard-edged black-and-white documentary style with colour. My technique of ‘Combined Image Photography’ (Landscape and Body series) became a means to find emotional answers but also to experience creativity: My photographic work takes me on a journey; a world creates itself in front of me. I seem to preside over the journey without being in control or aware of it’s final destination. After I left college and while living in London I became fascinated by how the rain transforms the landscape of the city and its view reflected in puddles becomes a totally different world and created my London at Night series This has since developed into the series " Rainy Cities at Night " (London, Berlin, Venice, Amsterdam) Since moving to Surrey to live on a houseboat this fascination with reflections has become the central theme of my work.
