Statement: About this photograph: On that day I had a strong desire to take photographs with the wind blowing. I traveled over 100 kms (60 miles) to find the Tramuntana but when I reached the Alt Empordà (most northerly part of the Ampurdán) there was no more than a light breeze. That was a big disappointment. But just around a bend in the road, in an ancient woodland of evergreen oak, I discovered that lake of reeds blown over by the previous day’s gales. There was something magical, motionless, about that place, and it gave me back my trust in the unexpected. *All of the prints in the series THE ELEMENTS were made by the photographer himself in his laboratory, on Chlorobromide, Silver Gelatin protected by immersion in Selenium.
